Score from Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008) - 1/6 scale customised sofa chair for deathnote

This is my last requisition in HK nov. This chair really needs a lot "fate"
Been to this shop at CTMA, level 12 i think for more than 3 times in 3 different trip since 2007 and the shop is either closed if not the owner keeps saying stock arrives next week. Damn frustrated :P
Below is the shop photo i took in 2007.

...really har...1 and a half year in the waiting until I finally found it in a corner shop in CTMA B2 and the lady owner is damn friendly, no need to think just pay lor :)

Excellent details and the material they use is heavy. Mainly polystone and imitate leather i think. (HK$168~damn worth it)

There are two colors, White and Dark Brown body frame. I choose the brown one because i think the white is abit too powdery.

It also comes with an apple and coffee cup

finally my L don't have to squad on the floor :P hehehehe

and yes..Yagami has an apple in hand~~so happy :P

Score from Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008) - Sideshow Toys- 12inch Indiana Jones

Buy~buy~buy!!! cos' am a blind fan of Indy :P I think till date SG still haven't received this figure yet. Got this from ToyHunter (CTMA) without checking prices elsewhere but no choice I really don't have time to run to and fro the same shops...haiz...(HK$680)
Will try to post more pix when I am free to play with it, so just bear with these snapshots for now.

Box Front
Box Back

Content (open flaps) quite nicely designed. The inner flap even got the movie poster illustrated.

The extra hat with fabric lining is for display purpose only, it can't fit to the extra Indy head given (what a waste) But, the whip is so much better. It's bendable and can create different whipping style...yea~!!

(IMHO) i think SS is the overall winner for this figure (other than the likeness) the proportion, clothes accessories, and reasonable price beats the hell out of medicom version.

Here's the summary in my humble review for comparison between SideShow's and Medicom 12inch Indiana Jones :

Accessories: SS
Paint Job: Medicom (SS paint job is too glossy/oily for my taste)
Likeness: Medicom has better sculpt, SS is not bad but their paint job suckzz...
Box Design: SS
Clothes: SS for more playability and trashing, Medicom version has more quality.
Figure: Medicom (cos' SS figure is very loose, always need to change to a better body like Hottoys true type figure)
Playability: SS
Price: SS definitely

Score from Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008) - Japanese Designer Sagawa Fujii (佐川藤井) Spectacles frame

Got this at SINO Center, ground floor (信和中心) for HK$299
Designed by Sagawa Fujii さがわふじ (佐川藤井). It's made of wood and all handcrafted so none is the same, quite unique.

Designer signature, wood curved as well

Score from Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008) - 1:6 Suit for my Bruce Wayne

Another 1:6 kitbash suit for my extra bruce wayne head in The Dark Knight version from Hottoys. (HK$330++) Will suit it up soon as well and post when i am free, too many toys to play and too little time to shoot (suit) 'em up :P

I think the above new suit is better than the Saturday Toys which i had now, it's more classy and has the "playboy" look for bruce wayne :P

Saturday Toys Suit with TDK version of Bruce Wayne

Saturday Toys Suit with Batman Begins version of Bruce Wayne

Score from Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008) - Loading Toys & 1:6 Tuxedo Suit

Next up is loading toys kitbash (Daniel Craig) set, or i wold like to called it the 007 likeness set. Shaun has a detail review of it last week, you guys may want to go have a look. I didn't intend to get this unless i can find the tuxedo suit in HK so luckily i did but with a steep price @ HKD$499!! po bian liao (no choice)

Box Cover Front (HKD$300++)

The Head

Here's the 1:6 tuxedo, HK called it "踢死兔"(HKD$499) for the above kitbash, will post the fully dressed soon and i am crossing my fingers that it better looks good for that kinda price i paid for :(

Hong Kong trip (Nov 2008)

(13-17 Nov 2008)
Due to my tight schedule, I didn't have much time for shopping. Need to travel to and fro Shenzhen (China) as well, so in fact i am left with only 2 short night in HK!! But i can feel the impact of the recession for HK retailers (imagine SG?). A lot of big shopping mall were barely empty but luckily Mongkok (concentrated toys areas) were still as vibrant in the night.

But too bad, a lot of new toy releases (medicom Kamen rider BLACK, RX etcs...) were already pre-ordered with TFH and i would say the price is quite competitive so i didn't see the need to bring back excess baggage this time.

Below are the latest prototype display in Toy Hunter (CTMA) my fav 1st stop for photo snapping :P
Protoytpe for 1/6 scale "Iron Man"
I am abit disappointed at the finishing of this figure, There's so much hype built up within the forums and i hope Hottoys will improved the finishing in the final product. (IMHO) the armor parts does not have the metallic feel. They should have the finishing same as Medicom 12inch Kamen Rider Kabuto

Mark 1 & Mark 2 looks really fantastic~!!! I recommend MUST BUY~!!!

Overall display for the IRON MAN movie series

Protoytpe for 1/6 scale The Dark Knight "Harvey Dent" (Two Face)
The photo tells it all..BUY~~!! The resemblance is uncanny and all looks good man...
Protoytpe for 1/6 scale "Edward Scissorhands"
Well, this is definitely a MUST BUY for me (as a fan) Though the likeness is not there but it's the best 12inch ED figure in the market so far (better than medicom version)

Protoytpe for 1/6 scale "U.S. Secret Service"
I am not into modern or military figures but this pair looks great as well. Any bro can comment on this?

Protoytpe for 1/6 scale "James Dean" red jacket version
Hope the final will have the improved "忧郁"look and feel of the headsculpt other than that, PAY lor cos' i love JD anyway~!!! :P

Up next? My humble haul in Hong Kong....watch for it :P

Day 03 (last day)-Live from HK-Richmond Shopping Center (Argyle Street) & misc

Today is the last day of my HK trip, it's been tiring to cope both work in the day and hobby shopping after but it's worthwhile to hunt those old toys i missed out last time.

LangHam Place
This is not a toy collector's hunting ground but Mrs. Moo has to do her fair share of ladies shopping as well,so i wander around & found 2 interesting store at level 8

A shop that sells die-cast HK public buses

This is a ladies undergarment shop, not that i have a need for it but i feel that the shop front & design is very creative plus they uses vinyl toy for their mascot :P

flickr album for this HK trip is finally completed, click below for complete photos:-
